Liesel_BW“What a delight to read such a well put-together book – it is going to help so many authors! I love this Quick Guide. It’s packed with actionable, practical steps to guide first-time and seasoned authors to make the most of the exposure opportunities, offered by the internet. I have been learning with D’vorah for almost an entire year, and still there were fabulous tips and action steps in this book that I had not yet considered or heard about.D’vorah’s language is clear, compelling, inviting, inspiring and I was almost torn between reading and stepping right into action! She provides clear action steps that she made easy-to-follow. I am a big fan of making things simple for authors who may not yet be tech-savvy and D’vorah’s book succeeds in exactly that. Every chapter provides enough information about a particular branch of the author platform (like Facebook, Amazon Author Central, your blog) so that we can spend time digging into that aspect, before reading about the next piece. It’s clear what to do, how to do it, and keeps reminding us of the benefits of expanding our author platform.Whether you’re a first-time author, or have not yet published your book, or even have 10 books out there, you can benefit from this guide. As an author myself, I discovered to my great dismay that books don’t leap off the shelves into willing buyers’ hands. As authors, we need to make it easy for those who need our message, to find us. With this book, you can! Bravo – I can’t wait for the next Guide in this Series!”~ Liesel Teversham, author of No Problem: The Upside of Saying No, www.SavvySelfGrowth.com

If you’re an author who’s stuck on how to spread the word about your own book – you need to take a look inside.I was feeling overwhelmed about the whole process. “D’vorah Lansky’s Develop Your Author Platform is the resource every author needs to own and use as their first step in book marketing. She explains the reasons why it’s important to put into place each of the platform planks as well as walks the reader through the “how-to” of doing that. The book is a user-friendly explanation and to-do/checklist so no step is missed, from creating a website for the book to doing the same on Facebook and much more. Every author needs this information, even seasoned authors who are marketing their own books. By following D’vorah’s advice, your author platform will be solid and support your marketing efforts. As one of D’vorah’s students, I know first-hand of her generosity and ability to share her knowledge, guiding authors through what may feel like a maze until she walks with us through it. D’vorah is patient in her instruction and perhaps more importantly, she mentors, coaches, and supports authors who learn from her.”~ Moreen Torpy, author of Going Forward: Downsizing, Moving and Settling In, www.GoForwardDownsize.com

If you are like me and have decided out of the blue to publish your own books, because you feel others need to hear what you have to say and see what you can create, you know that the first step is to get all the information you need on the subject. The trouble comes when you realise that there is way too much information and, because you have no background in the book business, you do not know which information is relevant to you. So, you start sifting through all the available information. If you are lucky you may stumble on what you need in a few days or weeks, or if you are like me you can spend years attending local author meetings, book publishing meetings, reading everything Google has to offer, and still not have a clear idea of what steps to take to get your book out there.

I have published my first hardcover picture book, “Animals In My Hair”, about a year ago and have spent MORE time trying to figure out how to reach the people who can benefit from my book. It was not until a few months ago that I discovered Sandra Beckwith whose e-mail led me to D’vorah Lansky’s Book Marketing Challenge. There is only a week left in the Challenge, but for the first time in my life, I know what exact steps I need to take to reach my audience.

With this book series Lansky is putting together all the tips and action steps you need to follow to see yourself succeed as an author. In this first book you will learn what pages you must have on your site/blog, how to set up and use your Author Facebook Page effectively, what are the essential social sites you should frequent, and how to create an unstoppable presence on Amazon. Lansky writes in a clear and concise manner, but with enough information that allows you to explore each topic further if you desire. If not, you can just follow her actionable steps and start your journey to success on a clear well-mapped-out track.

I want to cry, because I wish I have discovered this woman’s work sooner. If I could I would give her ten stars, but five will have to do. I have not had the time to implement all the steps suggested, but as soon as I do, I know I will be on a bullet train to success. All aboard?
